NEW MUSIC
Appearing on Hard Maybe’s upcoming album, “Palace” begins with a stripped down and intimate sound with only lead singer Monica Parshotam’s ethereal vocals and piano. It soon launches into Hard Maybe’s signature neo soul concoction driven by back-beat fueled funk and triumphant horns. Written about finding courage to let go and move on from what doesn’t serve you, “Palace” reflects on change and facing hard decisions. “I got a pile of problems on my plate, ask me how I’m doing I don’t know what to say,” Parshotam sings.

“Cry” Live OUT NOW
“Cry” is a heavy, churning, dark moment that navigates the magnetic pull of isolation and questions the grind mentality. Featuring HM’s signature three-part vocal harmony, it culminates into a climax of half triumph, half misery. “Cry” is featured on Hard Maybe’s album, coming out this fall.

ABOUT
Hard Maybe is a genre-bending neo soul/funk band hailing from Seattle with a sound described as a "fusion style completely their own." Fronted by the band’s main songwriters - singer/keyboardist Monica Parshotam and singer/bassist Troy Bohman - Hard Maybe’s sound is difficult to put in a box. With three-part harmony punctuated by horns, they seamlessly blend ingredients from back-beat driven funk, jazz, soul, and more to create an effortlessly cohesive and rich sound.
Hard Maybe seeks to inspire listeners with a sense of relatability in their music. The lives and identities of the band are woven through their songwriting, deriving from their own experiences navigating mental health struggles, harnessing neurodivergence, celebrating queerness, and embracing the awkward. By reflecting the ups and downs of life through song, Hard Maybe invites listeners on a journey to find joy, solidarity, and the courage to be unapologetically themselves.
The band formed in 2017 while living in Bellingham, WA, meeting through various projects to eventually form their unique neo soul concoction. Hard Maybe has since performed at several of the northwest’s biggest events including Capitol Hill Block Party, Bite of Seattle, Northwest Folklife Festival, and Bellingham Exit.
